Behind it all is founder Megan Kritzinger, who also established the beloved Stellski Coffee Bar & Café, with locations on Bree Street and Salisbury Street in Woodstock.

For The Wes, Megan drew inspiration from filmmaker Wes Andersonand her favourite movies — The Life Aquatic, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The result is a space that’s not only stylish and considered, but also quirky, fun, and full of personality.

Megan’s vision goes beyond design and film references. It’s rooted in her lifelong love for the classic French bistro — a place where food, wine, and culture come together in a way that’s both relaxed and refined. Having lived and worked in Nice, studied French at university, and being Paris obsessed, Megan brings her take on French charm to Cape Town, creating a space that feels both cosmopolitan and welcoming.
